Mapping the fort controls

Despite being under colonial control for much of their history, our sea forts were hubs of significant economic trade and renovation activities. A key renovation undertaken by every conquering power was the addition of bastions—fortifications with projecting structures designed to defend against gunpowder weapons. Notably, Janjira Fort boasts the highest number of bastions, while Arnala Fort is renowned for its cannons, as illustrated in the graph on the left. By exploring the dropdown options, one can see that the majority of conflicts centered around coastal forts, highlighting their strategic importance.
